COMPONENT 2: AIR NAVIGATION MODERNIZATION
Project Overview
Instrument Landing System (ILS) Installing precision approach system at UVF for safer landings in low visibility ADS-B Technology Deploying Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast at both UVF and SLU airports with ground stations and onboard transmitters Technical Assistance Developing ILS procedures, siting ADS-B antennas, and upgrading aeronautical charts

Project Objective
This component will improve air traffic safety and efficiency as well as strengthen resilience for air traffic navigation during bad weather through the modernization of air navigation systems.
Project Scope and Beneficiaries
This project is designed to create meaningful impact for various stakeholders and communities. Below are the key beneficiaries who will directly benefit from the project outcomes.
Installation of an ILS at UVF
Installation of Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B), at both UVF and SLU airports, including one or more ground stations, a receiver antenna, air traffic control tower monitors, and onboard transmitters for Saint Lucia-based aircrafts, all of which are helicopters.
Relevant technical assistance, including preparation of ILS procedure design and specifications, designing of ADS-B receiver antenna siting, and upgrading of UVF aeronautical charts.
